Because there are quite a few people out there who rely on ProLiant servers -
HP is currently #1 server server manufacturer worldwide.
Though HP does support Linux (SuSE and RedHat), they don't officially support
Debian GNU/Linux on their server hardware.
This site should provide a centralized information-pool so you can see if the
hardware you want to buy will work with Debian (and most likely with other
non-supported Linux distributions).

After finally admitting to myself that I just don't have enough spare time
to do this myself, a wikki will be set up within the next few days.
Thanks to anyone offering their help with this site - I'll send an email to
who talked to me during the last year or so how you now participate in making
